.name proposal for WHOIS reform.

During today’s WHOIS task force conference call, an interesting proposal from GNR on modifying access to the .name WHOIS database was discussed. The proposal attempts to take .name’s character as a TLD targeted at individual registrants into account. A brief summary of the proposal is available from the nc-whois list archive.
